Happy Tails of PDR Alumni 2016

Carly found her perfect home in Chatham with a wonderful, active, retired woman who was specifically looking for a Beagle to be a daily hiking companion and best friend. It was love at first sight for both and we knew we wouldn′t find a better match. Carly is called Nutmeg now.

Fletch found an ideal home in London with a couple who were looking for another Boxer after the passing of their previous beloved Boxer. They had worked through the exact same confidence building with their dog that Fletch needs and we were all confident that they could bring out the best in him. He is named Bentley now and has a Bulldog sister to mentor off of.

Clarke is a Golden Retriever/German Shepherd who came into our care with 3 broken bones in his foot. Through his months of recuperation a good friend of his foster family fell in love with him and knew he was the dog her family was meant to adopt. Clarke now lives on a farm in Baden with horses and lots of visitors which this social guy will love.

Zara found her forever family in Mt. Albert! They were looking for a large breed puppy and having owned large breed dogs before, were prepared for the work involved to raise and train Zara to be a wonderful member of their family. They have acreage for her to run and play on so Zara is thrilled!

Bean was the perfect fit for a young couple in Burlington looking for a small dog to add to their family. They were drawn to Bean through his photos and write up but then it was a love match when they met him. Bean will be greatly loved and even has a couple cats to keep him company.

Mya has found the most wonderful home with a loving couple in London who were looking for their first dog together. They understood her food allergies and didn′t let that scare them away from a truly loving and affectionate dog that was a great fit for them. Mya will be cherished in her new family.

Jett found his forever family in Cambridge with a family that included a 12 yr old girl who were looking for a Min Pin to join their family. Jett was the perfect choice as he was joyful and friendly and playful. Jett is going to have so much fun getting all the doggie attention and having a girl to be his very best friend!

Yoda was extremely popular but a lucky couple in London were quick to apply and were a perfect fit for our sweet Frenchie X boy. He was exactly what they were looking for and an immediate bond was made when they met him. Yoda is their only pet and will love all the attention he gets.

Todd found his forever home in Woodstock with a young couple that were looking for a Lab type dog that was friendly, active and good with cats. Todd is all that and then some so he was a great fit!

Cody found his forever home in London with a loving couple and their Cocker Spaniel X. Cody loved their dog immediately and we knew he would do the best in a home with another dog so it was a great fit. Shy Cody was giving kisses to his new mom within minutes of meeting her so we knew he picked this family as well!

Carson is a Golden Retriever/German Shepherd who didn′t make it to the adoption postings as we had a wonderful family in Maple, Ont looking for a long time for the perfect dog to suit their family and lifestyle. They met Carson and knew that he was the one! Carson is named Guiness now and he lives with a couple with their 2 girls.

Jester found his forever home in Burlington with a compassionate family with teen kids wanting to give a shy dog a loving home. This family is very committed to continuing to work with Jester and bring out his confidence through training, socialization, and the love of a stable home where he will never be abandoned again.

Chrissy found her forever home in Kitchener with a great young couple looking for a larger dog to be a companion to their Boston Terrier. They fell in love with Chrissy′s love of life and consistently happy demeanor and knew she was the one for them. Her name is Sadie now.

Hope caught the attention of a couple who have been waiting for the perfect dog to come along. After reading her profile they knew that this was the dog for their family. Hope agreed and she now lives in Baden with a wonderful couple and their 2 young kids and senior Retriever. Hope loves kids and dogs so we couldn′t be happier.

Martha was our most popular adoption posting yet, getting almost 22,000 people reached on her FB post! She found her loving family on a rural property just outside of Ayr that were dearly missing having a big dog in the home after the passing of their previous dog. Martha is now a Maggie and she is adored!

Joe found the most ideal home ever with a wonderful woman in London who is a rehabilitation therapist and works with people that sometimes have sight issues, so dealing with a blind dog was not a problem for her at all. We couldn′t have found a better home for our lovely Joe Cocker and he really seemed to pick her as his new mom as well!

Rey found her forever home in Scarborough with a woman and her teen son who were looking for a Retriever type dog to join their family. They have a lot of experience with Retrievers and were wanting the energy and fun that comes with these goofy dogs. Rey will keep them entertained, that′s for sure.

When the family of Miles, a previous PDR adoptee, told us that they were looking for a friend for Miles, we knew that Paige was the perfect fit. This family loves trick training and Paige (now Maisy) being an agile 7mth old Border Collie/Pug mix is super smart, all around friendly and the ideal fit for them.

We knew from the application that the family that first applied for Bullet was her ideal placement. We couldn′t have picked better for her; and upon meeting them we were convinced. Bullet now lives in Binbrook with an active family of runners who were looking for a running companion and loving family pet. Her name is Ridley now and she will be in her glory running every day!

Jimmy has found his forever home in Etobicoke with a family looking for a big dog in a small package and Jimmy was exactly what they were looking for. He is very happy and getting a lot of attention and exercise. His new mom says that Jimmy completes their family. We love that!

Keeva was a special adoption to a family where the mom is a community educator and was looking for a working dog to take over for her current dog that is retiring. She needed a dog to fit speciific criteria as they visit hundreds of adults & children daily in schools and community centres. Keeva fit her needs and then some, and was a huge hit with the whole family. Keeva looks forward to her role as a humane ambassador!

Lola found an extra special home in St. George with a compassionate woman and her daughter who saw past Lola′s special needs to the amazing temperament this dog has. She has fit right in and is greatly loved. Her name is Winnie now.

Doug found the greatest home for him with a loving couple and their Pug/Frenchie dog named Peanut. Doug and Peanut were inseparable from the moment they met and we all knew that this was Doug′s perfect fit. Doug is living in St. Thomas now.

Aero our timid Border Collie found a wonderful home in Kitchener with a busy family of parents and 4 teenage boys plus a Keeshond!! We did a gradual introduction of Aero to various family members and by the end, Aero was wiggling and bouncing when her family would show up to see her. Huge accomplishment for a dog that was afraid of men!

Champion was such a special dog that his foster family couldnt part with him. We celebrate this ″Foster Fail″ with them and our loveable Lab/Shep/Rott boy. He is named Cooper now and is enjoying an active life with a wonderful young couple.

Gracie the Bichon X found a home with a retired lady looking for a mature Bichon for companionship and a walking partner. Gracie was the perfect match and found her forever home in Drumbo. Gracie is called Molly now and she and her mom are the best of friends.

Roscoe, our senior Beagle who needed expensive cruciate surgery, fully recovered and found an amazing home with a young couple with a fondness for Beagle′s who were looking for a senior dog. Couldn′t ask for a better match!

Piper was selected by a family we had waiting for the ideal dog to come along. They were patient and patience pays off. Piper is a lovely Sheltie/Aust Cattle Dog mix that suited their needs and the whole family adored her. She is living in Toronto now.

Addi is an 8mth old Cane Corso/Boxer puppy who found a wonderful home in Kitchener with a great couple and their cats. They were looking for a big dog, know the Boxer breed well and found Addi to be exactly what they were looking for. They are committed to the training and exercise that Addi needs and she is a very happy dog!

Lewis, our sweet little Louis, was the perfect dog for a loving woman looking for a ShihTzu of her very own. She new immediately upon reading his bio that Louie was the dog for her and the meet confirmed it. It was love at first sight both ways as Louie was just silly for his new mom. He is living in Kitchener now.

Little Digby, our boy with the amazing eyelashes, is now batting those fluffy beauties at his new mom and winning her heart. Digby was adopted by a very loving retired woman who lives on a farm out in Paris. Digby is a country dog now and he gets to enjoy a large and lush fenced back yard plus acre upon acre of good sniffs. But better yet, he is his new mom′s pride and joy and best friend.

Danica is a beautiful 1yr old German Shepherd that spent very little time in our rescue as we had a young couple actively looking for a young German Shepherd to join their family. Danica is now called Adelaide, (Addi for short) and is loving life in Kitchener with her new family.

Howie has found an active family in Oakville who were looking for a smaller dog to share their life with. They were attracted to Howie′s zest for life and obvious cuteness andthey had a soft spot for Westie′s so he was the perfect fit. Howie now has a big yard, and kids to play with every day. Hes a happy boy!

Jade found her forever home in Binbrook with a couple who were looking for a dog to keep them company after the passing of a cherished family dog. They understood that Jade needed consistency and training and were willing to work with her to provide the stability that she needed. They changed her name to Hannah as it had great meaning to them; what a pretty name for such a pretty dog.

Our beautiful Nova has found a loving home with a semi retired couple in Mississauga who were drawn to her smiling face and realized after reading her bio that she was an ideal dog for them. Nova has settled right in and will be a loyal lifetime friend and companion for them and they will ensure she has the best life ever.

MacDuff found his ideal home in Hamilton with a couple who were accustomed to the terrier ways and knew that he would be the perfect dog for them. MacDuff now lives in a home with lots of fenced in property for him to roam and gets a lot of attention and cuddles. He is called Chance now.

We had a young couple waiting for the perfect dog. Benny had all the qualities of what they were looking for and then some. It was a very successful meet and all agreed that this was a great fit. Benny is called Ripley now and he is enjoying family life in New Hamburg now.

Brynlee is a German Shepherd/ Aust. Cattle Dog who was the ideal fit for a family who had been searching for an affectionate dog who could accompany them camping and on travels. Brynlee lives in London now and is enjoying a large yard and plenty of attention and love.

Seymore the Boston Terrier puppy came to us from a puppy mill where he was a discard as he wasn′t perfect. His foster family fell in love with this tiny guy and it was no surprise when he found a home within the family. We ensured that the couple knew everything about Seymore and his breed and were well prepared for life with a puppy. He is named Winston now and will be a much loved and well trained little boy.

Levi is happy to announce that he found his forever home in Waterloo! His family was looking for a dog as their home was not the same after the passing of their previous dog. Levi′s gentle and quiet nature really appealed to them and they knew upon meeting him that he was the one. Levi agreed and he is happily settling in with his forever family.

Willard found his forever home in Mulmur, Ontario with a couple looking for the perfect addition to their dog family. Willard was the right age and energy level and he fit right in. And the fact that hes a huge suck and loves snuggles didn′t hurt either. He′s quickly become his new dad′s sidekick and is greatly loved in his adoptive home.

Charlotte found her forever home in Tillsonburg with a family that have a huge yard for her to explore and who love going for long walks. Best of all, Charlotte′s new mom can take her to work every day. So Charlotte has truly found her ideal fit and she is beyond happy in her new home.

Chloe went from puppy mill breeding dog to the life of a cherished family member with a couple in Kitchener who were looking for a sweet, small dog to love. Chloe has a full life ahead of her now and is already the hit of the neighbourhood and has many new friends. Everyone just loves her sweet nature and adorable cuteness.

Simon found his forever family in Waterloo with a couple and daughter looking for their first family dog. They found an ideal new best friend in Simon who settled right in to his new family like he′s been there forever. Simon is called Sonic now.

We celebrate a foster fail with Farley′s family. His foster family grew very attached to sweet Farley during his time with them and they made such progress with him as he was such a terrified dog when they first got him. With all the work they put into him it became clear that they couldn′t part with him as Farley was home. Farley knew it all along!

We needed a very specific family for Bogey as SharPei are a unique breed with certain requirements. We found the perfect family who had SharPei experience and knew what to expect from this wonderful breed. They were charmed by his beautiful colouring and even more beautiful personality and it was clear to all on the meet that Bogey chose them as well.

Duchess our miracle dog survived the worst case of bladder stones our vet has ever seen. She recovered wonderfully and was lucky enough to find a loving family! Duchess′s new mom is a nurse so she will keep on top of Duchess′s health care and ensure she will never be neglected again.

Tally found her forever home with a retired couple who live in rural Selkirk, looking to downsize after a life with Wolfhounds. They had a fondness for Beagles and when they saw how sweet and calm Tally was realized that their search was over for the perfect Beagle. She is named Tilly now and is enjoying country walks and couch cuddles.

Arya found her perfect home in Cambridge with a young couple who were touched by her story of overcoming past neglect and wanted to offer her a secure and loving home where she will never know sadness again.

Denny found his forever home in Waterloo with a couple who had a beloved Beagle previously and were searching for another Beagle to love. Denny caught their eye and he charmed them with his cuddly ways when they met and it was a great match all around.

Della having heartworm and being in treatment didn′t stop her from finding a wonderful home in Mississauga with a couple looking for a friendly dog that could go to work every day. Della was exactly what they were looking for and now enjoys a busy social life at the office. Her name is Rosa now.

Wilbur found his forever home in Mississauga with a family looking for their first dog. They knew they wanted an adult dog that was well trained already and had a loving personality. Wilbur was everything they were looking for and then some. He has settled right in to his new home and is enjoying all the attention.

Newman found an extra special home in Searchmont, Ont. which is 8hrs away!!! His new family was convinced that this was the dog for them and made the long trip with their dog Maxx. It was an instant connection and everyone involved knew that Newman had found his home. The ride home went perfectly and a firm bond was set by the time they got home. Newman′s new family loves him deeply and we look forward to many updates and photos of his new life up north!

Dewey found his forever home in Kitchener with a couple who were looking specifically for an American Bulldog and had a lot of experience with powerful dogs. Dewey was everything they hoped for and then some.

Cole found his ideal home in Guelph with a couple looking for a second dog. His good manners with other dogs and cats was very important to this family and they loved everything about this wonderful dog. Cole is now a much loved member of a family with all black coloured pets!

Sophie found her forever home in Cambridge with a family with kids and a Lab X buddy that she bonded with immediately. She has settled in and taken up her post as squirrel patrol supervisor. Her new family is quite happy with Sophie and so are we!

Denver found his forever home with previous PDR adopters of Ozzie who were looking for a second dog to complete their family. Ozzie and Denver got along great and will be lifelong buddies!

Ellie Mae found a perfect home in Conestogo with a couple looking for a buddy for their Spaniel X, Patsy Cline. The dogs adore each other and Ellie Mae has found her happily ever after.

Cameron met his forever family at the 2017 PDR HOWLer! They were there to support pulling sports with their Husky and fell in love with our goofy hound X who also loves pulling sports. The dogs were instant best friends and we couldn′t have found a better fit for Cam. He′s living a full and wonderful life with a family who adores him.

Kingston is a 7mth old Beagle/Terrier pup who found his forever home with good friends of his foster mom. He′s gone to live happily ever after in Ayr with a young, active family, looking for a young, active dog. Perfect fit!

Ollie the Sheltie X found his forever home in Waterloo with a great couple looking for a friend for their Retriever X. Ollie was the perfect fit in every which way.

Glenn found his ideal home in Roslin, Ont with a family that had prior Boxers and loved the breed. They were looking for another Boxer after the passing of a beloved dog and came across Glenn. It was a love match and Glenn got the gift of a forever home for Christmas

Buttons found his forever home with a retired couple in Thornhill who were looking a long time for the perfect dog for their home. They found Buttons and knew he was the one. He will get to spend this Christmas in a loving forever home...best gift ever!!

Ella got a loving forever home for Christmas this year! She is now living in Waterloo with a couple who were looking for a Border Collie. Ella adored this couple and we knew she picked them too!

Tia found her forever home in Cambridge with an active couple who both work at a golf course and can bring the dog to work. Tia is named Harley now and her days include a running patrol of the course, golf cart rides and napping in the office. Tough life!

Dudley was being fostered by us, PDR co founders, Kim and Jarett, who are BIG hound fans. He fit in so well, and was such a lovely addition to our home that the realization came that we couldnt part with him. Dudley is a greatly loved member of the family and will be showing future foster dogs the ropes and where the good treats are.

Remmy having heartworm and lyme disease didnt stop him from finding a wonderful home in Baden to call his own. He has cats to buddy up with and a loving home where he will never be neglected again.
